You may have seen “https://” in the browser address bar. It means the data on that page is encrypted and secure. HTTPS means Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure which was originated in 1994 and was updated in 2000. Some websites can only be accessed using HTTP , but Facebook provides the option of browsing through a secure connection by using HTTPS. So If you activate this service then all your Facebook traffic becomes encrypted & will be more difficult for hackers to access your account.
Activate secure browsing in Facebook:
Step 1: log on to your Facebook account ( if you already logged in go to Security Settings > Step4)
Step 2: Go to Account Settings.
Step 3: Click on the “Security” tab on the left side of the screen.
Step 4: You will see a Tab Named as “Secure Browsing”. Check the box and save changes.
Now see at your browser bar. You will see https:// rather than http:// that means your connection is secure.
